You're obsession with Palin is astounding.

I'd guess that Flash and Cali are obsessed for different reasons.

One rule in presidential politics: you do not prematurely admit defeat. You admit it once it's final, and never before. A lot more is riding on that than just your sorry presidential butt.
I think that all that is being suggested is that Senators in certain races do this. I think at this point avoiding a filibuster-proof Senate is the best we can hope for. And I think it would enhance turnout in those races, and in the already lost presidential race, who cares?

Also, this isn't in the top 1000 of foolish things you have heard just on this web site.

Plus, I think Tex may be missing the point. No one's asking McCain to publicly concede or anything of the sort.

But currently the RNC is subsidizing McCain because McCain is short on funds. The article that you read (unless I'm mistaken -- but I think I read the same one) simply suggested that the RNC stop subsidizing McCain and instead shift its remaining funds to the critical Congressional races to try to prevent a supermajority.

I know what you meant, and I still think it's quite foolish. Neither McCain nor the RNC nor anyone else ought to make any move that would any further demoralize Republicans than they already are.

Put it in the top 50 foolish things.

I guess you believe that this would inflict worse damage than is already in store. I think the catastrophe for the Republican party next week is imminent. I really think it would be difficult to make worse. Obviously I believe that the further demoralization you speak might motivate the party faithful, and some others, to help us salvage something.

Its probably academic. We're just hypothesizing how bad things will be. They will be pretty bad one way or the other.

It's rumored that some former Romney folks now with McCain are behind the Palin trashing.

OHMYGOSH!

I said a couple of weeks ago that polls would barely be closed before the candidates would be announcing for 2012. Apparently I was mistaken. They've already started:

The only serious candidate ready to challenge to lead the Republican Party is Mitt Romney. He's in charge on November 5th.
