Regardless, then your issue is with Jay's assumption regarding whether or not Kaveinga is the cream of the crop and not the idea that only cream plays at USC.

Regardless, once I became aware his father prefers the Trojans I made up my mind he was USC bound.
At this point if he signs with SC, it would surprise me if he receives any meaningful minutes in '08; he'd probably redshirt.

Was that when the field microphone picked up someone hollering "Ride 'em, cowboy!"?

You have Steve Tate. I have Ronny Jenkins running right through Kautai Olevau on his way to "why-did-I-do-that? land.

Reed = 200 lbs; Tate = 225 lbs

Jenkins = 190 lbs; Olevau = 235 lbs.

I did laugh at that, but missed the irony. Then again, I think skiing is better in Salt Lake County.

True, but Olevau was also pretty much stationary while Jenkins was at or close to full speed. And Kautai weighed closer to 260.

I remember saying to myself, "#43's not falling for the juke" then a split second later Jenkins was out; that was a great hit.

No one threw anything at me, and if they were hurling insults I didn't hear them. It's not anything I'm interested in discussing with someone who has already decided that it was a trivial experience.

I have no problem with hispanics or blacks, spare me your ignorant assumptions and accusations.

You win, USC is the greatest university out there. It's located in the safest, best part of LA, the fans are the height of respectability and consideration, the players are all fine upstanding young men, no one associated with USC would EVER be involved in anything even approaching gang activity. The "F*** the police" graffiti that was all over the campus sidewalks last time I was up there just appeared. The Coliseum is a fabulous venue, and there's no fathomable reason why someone would NOT want to attend school there...oh, unless they're racist like me, and then of course they think anyone with a little pigmentation in their skin is human debris.

Correction, Rice stadium prior to the alcohol ban was allegedly "no place for a lady."

What stands out most in my memory was the sound of the hit. I don't think I've ever heard pads pop like that while sitting in the stands.
