Does anybody else watch American Idol?
What the hell happened to Barry Gibb?
My 14-year-old asked who the hobo was.

Age hasn't been good to him. And he talks with a lisp.
What washed up singer do they bring on next week? Shirley Temple?

I am proud to say that I have never seen not even one second of one episode of American Idol.

Aside from the drama of seeing peoples' dreams dashed on national television by an arrogant Brit, we get to see whatever happened to the music stars of our youth. Generally speaking, it's not a pretty picture, but very entertaining. Besides, Kornheiser provides some hilarious commentary the next day on his Washington Post radio show. I podcast it and recommend it highly.

One of the funnier SNL skits in recent years was Jimmy Fallon as Barry Gibb on the Barry Gibb show. I'm sure it's on youtube somewhere..."I'm Barry F'n Gibb"

Not as bad a friend who went to a school that played Gallaudet University in football. At his first gaem he noticed that the Gallaudet squad used a big base drum on the sideline as the QB set the line and called the count. My friend went on and on about how dumb "those Gaullaudet guys must be, they need a drum to help them count, ha ha ha." Then someone pointed out that Gallaudet is a school for deaf people.

I watched Tuesday's show, for the first time in two years. All eight songs greatly sucked. How the hell did a beat-boxing Erasure-wannabe make it all the way to the final four?
Regardless of "talent," I suspect Jordan will win because she is the most attractive of the four. I however, will not be watching that hideous mess again. |
