Well, I am a sucker for illiteration. I hope "Hendy" is a reference to the old "Home Town" because I can't think of anything else it could be referring to and I will feel kind of dumb when you have to explain it to me.

Creekster, I think these comments are right on in terms of teaching. Understanding your audience is so critical. I think an important part of being a good teacher is learning how to balance what your audience responds to and what drives your passion. Many times, students will cut you small slack with your approach if you do it with passion. Every teacher will screw-up the balance sometimes. For example, one lesson I mentioned (really in passing) that the story of Ruth might/probably have/has sexual overtones. ("Feet", the covering of them and the uncovering of them, is often an euphemism in the Old Testament.) While, this is an interesting issue (well, at least I think it is), I could have delivered the lesson without mentioning it (we were discussing why woman are mentioned in Jesus' genealogy in the gospel of Matthew) and I think it become a bit of distraction for some members of my class.
