What's the vedict?
To be fair, shouldn't we read this one too:

http://www.amazon.com/Misquotes-MISQ...dp/0977742466/

And after that I'll write one called Misquoting Misquotes in Misquoting Jesus.

Waiting for votes, but I'm not familiar with that author, whether that author is a scholar or just somebody defensive about Ehrman's attack on orthodoxy. Do you know?

It was a joke. Hence my comment that I would follow with a book entitled Misquotes in Misquoting Misquotes in Misquoting Jesus.

I do not believe the second book is considered scholarly. I have not even investigated it. The author certainly knows how to make a buck though, I believe he also wrote several rebuttals to the Da Vinci Code.

Well I appreciated the joke, but given your religious heritage, was trying to tread lightly. Reviewing the inside of the book, it seems as if it's an apology for evangelists who might be troubled by the work. The first few pages are more attacks on the author than a scholarly rebuttal to the substance.

I figured as much.

If I read Ehrman, I would probably read the other as well...just to see the response. Turns out the dear husband has already read Misquoting Jesus. I have yet to hear his thoughts on the work.

I either want the old avatar back, or a link to where I can find the avatar. I miss the naughty librarian.
