Probably about ten people.

There may be more who don't admit it. I'm kind of annoyed that I was asked to play the organ for a stake leadership meeting this Saturday right during the New Mexico game. But overall music callings in the Church are OK -- not very time-consuming in my experience.

My wife is a very good pianist...she did not know how to play the organ. She was called to be an organist for sacrament meeting. She learned and she is very good now.

any blessing you might have received for playing the organ during the football game has now been lost.

Countless. 40 to 50 BYU-I professors in my ward and a bunch of them teach music and all of their wives and children play. They had all the kids that play violin in ward play last Christmas and it looked like a orchestra. My family is by far the least talented family in the ward musically as all we can play is our Ipods.

Are you asking for peple that actually know how to paly the organ, or people that can play the piano who can thus pretend to be organists?

Our ward has about 7 or 8 pianists but onily two organists and really only one good organ palyer.

Back in the day, my mother specifically learned to play the piano and organ so that she could accompany in church. She tried to force this upon her children, but it only took with two of them (out of seven). And you guessed it, I wasn't one of those two.
