Fuegote's official RSL update thread...[R]
why not? for the few who are fans, I'll update RSL news for you here. From press releases to season ticket holder info....
To start: Dave Checkettes sent a letter to the county council asking them to take the stadium off their agenda for this tuesday's meeting. Looks like he's doing this without county help. (he did mention on numerous broadcasts that working with the county council was worse than any gov't body he has ever had to work with... he's been living back east for awhile). RSL played New England this evening with Dave giving the team a pep talk before the match started... they won: 3-1. RSL WON! This is only the second away win in their existence! Fantastic Fantastic! A one touch volley by Klein, a Cunny goal where he weaved through 4-5 defenders, and a set play corner to Kreis that he chested to his feat and nailed. Wow. I'll try and update this daily through the week.

I sure hope SLC finds a way to keep them. What do you think the letter by Checketts means? There is no way he is funding this on his own. Could it signify that the Utah County deal is close to done and he doesn't want SL County wasting any more time on it? I still hope it winds up downtown. It makes the most sense, to me. If you had to guess, where would the stadium go? |

the hard factor in all this was they purchased the land. So I still think Sandy's in the run.
I hope they build it in Vineyard to stick it to the county of Salt Lake and their "leaders." You know they don't want to give any money (for sidewalks and roads) but will be there, hands open, waiting for the tax revenue to come in.

News Posts
Someone from BigSoccer posts all RSL articles daily with little clips of each. I'll post them here as well. My favorite part: "Personally, I feel we just had begun to lose a little bit of support from people in our community," said Kreis, the Real captain, following his team's 3-1 triumph over the New England Revolution Friday night at Gillette Stadium. "On Tuesday night (at a U.S. Open Cup match) I heard some very negative comments from fans toward our team for the first time since I've been here, really. Actually Kreis, my group has been all over the team and their play, it's just on tuesday, there were only 5 other voices to try and drown us out.
