Wilson Rawls
Had burned his manuscript of "Where the Red Fern Grows" previously because he was ashamed his wife-to-be might read it, and he was ashamed of it's poor quality, along with his other writings which he burned.
But at his wife's insistence, he rewrote it over three weeks. Where did he rewrite it? Idaho Falls. A statue was erected at the Idaho Falls Public Library, in the 90s, when they realized that it has been re-written there. http://www.trelease-on-reading.com/rawls.html |
