College presidents trying to lower drinking age to 18
http://www.cnn.com/2008/HEALTH/08/18....ap/index.html
MADD is against it. SU cheers. Because if the drinking age is lowered to 18, the kids will be healthier, in his estimation and live longer. The science is clear, he exclaims! |

Unbelieveable.
Perhaps those who favor it don't want the possible liability that comes with not enforcing the law on their campuses?

It's a win-win for SU. 1) better health for the students, 2) DWIs, manslaughter, public intoxication give him more work. |

That is particularly interesting because I was just reading last week that a number of college presidents including those at BYU and Utah were pushing to have alcohol commercials removed from college football telecasts.

Don't forget that towns that are dominated by the presence of a college or university often make a truckload of money from the sale of alcohol.

I think it's silly that the age of majority is 18 yet the drinking age is 21. They should be the same age.

As the father of a 19 year old male I find it laughable that 18 is considered an adult.

21 is a good age to allow legal drinking.
