Possibly. I know him from his short-lived Firefly series. I believe he also did Buffy and Angel, though I'm not a fan of those shows.
I discovered recently that he co-wrote the screenplay for the movie Toy Story.

He is the creator of the Buffy The Vampire Slayer and Angel series on TV.
Buffy is a goofy name for a TV show, but it's one of the best shows on TV in the past 20 years or so. I've only gone through 1 season of Angel. It's a spin off from Buffy, but I liked what I'd seen. Someday I'll get around to watching the rest. He also created a short lived Sci-Fi/Western series called "Firefly" that didn't last very long. Then a few years ago a movie called "Serenity" based on the Firefly characters was released and was one of the better and underated movies that year. He has another series coming out with Buffy alum (and fellow LDS inactive hottie) Eliza Dushku called "The Dollhouse" that's supposed to be another Sci-Fi type show.

I originally tried going to site yesterday, but it was completely hammered. Tonight was much better, and I was able to watch the first two episodes.
The only works of Joss' I'm familiar with are Firefly and Serenity. Wasn't much into Buffy. l like Joss Whedon's stuff the way I like Chipotle. It may not be "classy", but it's enjoyable and strangely addicting. That being said, Dr Horrible is high quality as an free Internet video but would make only a slightly better than average TV show (if it turned into a series). I was thorougly entertained at the whole video blogging schtick, and liked the attempt as a musical. I studied Media Music at BYU and write music as a hobby so I was interested to see how the Internet Musical thing would play out. The musical numbers aren't too badly written, Joss and his brother would probably never make it on Broadway though. I'm definitely going to catch the last episode. |
