Carlin's take on such an event might go like this:

"He's gone to a better place"

What does that mean? How do you even know? Suppose he went to hell, that can't be a "better" place. And where is this place? "Better Place" has been welcoming newcomers every day for quite some time now...so you'd think someone would've found it by now.

...Something like that.

He certainly had some funny takes during his comedy career. I could've done without the real angry comedy he got into later in life, but overall, I enjoyed his stuff.

The art of stand up is kind of rapidly becoming lost.
