Default Can one of you scholars explain this?

Which is the name of Abraham's father? is it just something that gets lost in translation or what?

Luke 3:34

34 34 Which was the son of Jacob, which was the son of Isaac, which was the son of aAbraham•, which was the son of Thara, which was the son of Nachor,

Abraham 2:1
1 1 NOW the Lord God caused the afamine• to wax sore in the land of Ur, insomuch that bHaran•, my brother, died; but cTerah•, my father, yet lived in the land of Ur, of the Chaldees.

Thara...Terah...sounds like it was the same name, lost in translation over the centuries. I would go with the book of Abraham.

It's the same name, but not a name lost in translation.

It's an either or, I am sure the Jewish would accept Terah as more right, and Christians would think Thara is more right, either way it's 6's.....

As far as the father of Abraham, I always thought it was Noah.

In that sense, the account in Abraham chap. 1 doesn't make much sense, does it?

And for the record, when in the world did you start using capitalization, and punctuation other than ellipses?
