Each had/has a popular following based on real accomplishments, real ideas, and real policy positions. Condi Rice in particular is widely popular in the Republican party based on her incredible resume, and will be able to easily capture the Republican nomination for any office she chooses, if she wishes. Obama on the other hand has turned himself into a vapid religious icon. Which is why people like "supporter Kathleen Geier" are getting "weirded out" by some of his acolytes.
