Or, if Tex is speaking the party line, publically reaffirm the party line that God was behind it all along. But I've never seen the modern LDS Church show much courage of its convictions. Since the arrived in Salt Lake if things got to hot they changed the doctrine or revised history. There is also no evidence that "truth" for truth's sake is a high value in the culture or the organization. Tex throwing the word "history" around like he does is a prime example. This is not new. Valuing truth for truth's sake is a modern concept and certainly has not been consistenly important to Chistianity.

Solon, I'm speaking of these things from the perspective of a person of my faith. I wouldn't expect those not occupying that perspective to agree with my reasoning.

Fear of the unknown. Fear of the consequences of changing course.

Take heart, we have all lived to see the turning of the tide. If it hasn't already happened, it soon will.

What part of my statement is hugely silly. My sentences contained several statements.
We understand you are not black and therefore feel no reason why we should remove obstacles within that community.

That's as may be, but it is irrelevant. Your assertion was that it is unquestionably true, when at very best it is questionably true.

For whatever reason, leadership does not have much faith the church membership. Their distrust is unjustified IMHO.

Truly, this statement is uncalled for.

You know how boxers when preparing for a fight, need a sparring partner. The sparring partner is always an inferior fighter, often past his prime, willing to take a small paycheck to get pounded on in practice.
Thank you, Tex, for doing this for free. |
