Michael Clayton
Saw this yesterday.
Great flick. Snappy Dialogue. Taut, slick and well paced. Great ending and perfect placement of the F-bomb. It'll be nominated for Best Picture, Actor, Supporting Actor, Screenplay and Director.

I saw it yesterday as well and I too thought it was excellent. Parts of the plot weren't very realistic - some of the actions of the chief council, but that didn't matter to me. I thought it was more a morality play vs. a diatribe on 'big business'.
It was The Verdict meets The Insider. Well done. Also, I don't know the last time Sydney Pollack acted in a move he produced, but he was convincing as the senior partner. Last edited by 8ballrollin; 11-04-2007 at 04:34 PM. |

Saw this Friday night on its re-release for Oscar time. Tom Wilkinson was brilliant. George Clooney should not have been nominated for an Oscar, unless you want to nominate him for every movie he has been in. He was the same guy. That is not to say he was bad, I like GC. It is kind of like Hugh Grant. Same guy in every movie but he does that guy pretty well.
The Movie itself was very good and ranks behind No Country for me in the best picture race. Juno was too cool for me, The girl is too witty, the music too indy and it all seemed like corporate invades cool. So without seeing There will be blood yet (thursday) Best Picture for me are No Country Michael Clayton Juno There Will be Blood (thursday) Atonement(not gonna see it) |
