So he had one of his better games in some time. Any day his misses are still in single digits he has demonstrated amazing restraint.

Tavernari's going in my doghouse quickly. I'll be on him like Beck 2003 if he doesn't make a sharp turnaround.

Here is my assesment of Tavernari the first time I ever saw him play, which was a couple years back when De Toledo and Tavernari came to BYU on their official visits. They played in some pick up games in the MC and here is what I wrote on cougar blue:
http://www.cougarblue.com/component/...limitstart,72/ I don't think I was that far off in my assesment. You will also have to excuse my anonimous Jimmer plug. Last edited by Prof-Bball; 01-10-2008 at 05:43 AM. |

Well done Prof on your JT assessment...I will say that I loved the comment from the kid on how to pronounce 'Jimmer.' Seriously? My name is Phil...oh, really, how do you pronounce Phil? I guess because Jimmer is a screwed up name, it would confuse you, but it still got a laugh out of me.
I still stand by the thought--if JT misses 2 shots in a row, you take him out and sit him for the rest of the game because you know he is going to keep on hoisting bad out of control 3-pointers. Man, that kid is a disaster, and I bet you that every player on that Coug team hates him and if they don't, kick that player off the team as well.

I think losing De Toledo and Otero....2 recruits that could've and likely would've taken a lot of pressure off of Plaisted in the paint is really hurting us this year.
It sucks to have 2 talented forwards like that sign,,,only to have one decide he wants to jet to Brazil, although I guess De Toledo is playing somewhere up in Canada now? And the other one in Otero who apparently was very effective in the paint, like Keena Young was, at getting his own shot....and didn't qualify academically if I understand correctly.
