Did you read Bushman's book and find it lacking in some way?

Nonsense. It was a poor review. I have a strong suspicion that he only skimmed it.

There are any number of books I'd love for us to discuss. I've been re-reading B.H. Roberts' Studies in the Book of Mormon....

I didn't know Mullahs hated Bushman's book. They really do just want to hear the fables.

Yes. We need to reinstate the BOTB. The problem seems to be getting a book that the majority can agree upon. We need someone to take this bull by the horns. Archaea and I nominated the Juanita Brooks MMM book, but I think I was the only one that read it. Maybe you can suggest a better pick.

I think Juanita Brooks is one of the most impressive mormons. It amazes me that a rural believing mormon WOMAN had the fortitude to do what she did. Especially one who born in the early 1900s. Honestly amazing, IMO.

I liked her book.

Me too. The truth is it is interesting but it is a slog. Not a page turner. I am working on In Sacred Loneliness and am breezing through it. Very very interesting.
