It is the only religion that encourages murder in modern times. Eliminate that radicalism and Islam has a useful place in the world.

I know the subject matter concerns the drafting of the Qu'ran and certain provisions which the current readers reject. They find them sacrilegious and thus worthy of death. I've also read reviews that his writing isn't very good.

The point being, nobody should be worthy of death for something they write. And a religion that believes otherwise is by definition radical, and barbaric. Christianity once had barbaric tendencies as did Judaism. It's time for Islam to reject its inherent barbarism.

Islam has usefulness if it rids itself of barbarism. It brings order, some culture and some safety and comfort. Those are good things. The ancient philosophers were also brilliant men, and perhaps women, who contributed to intellectual development, Avicenna, Averros and Al Ghazali. So I don't reject all of Islam, but the current barbarism must end.
