So we're heading to Maui
and fortunately, we're taking our bikes to cycle a few days, but ...
I now will climb hale akala, 38 miles average gradient of 6.5% in a tribike. Yikes. Oh well. It should take about 4 hours or less but I am going with the wife so who knows.

be careful on those roads. a lot of crazy tourists and tour operators.

She's done the Death Ride. Just stay on her rear wheel and you should be fine. Bring along a bungy cord and hook it to her seat post if need be.

We are two wimps, nobody would want to ride with us.
I suppose most might see us as weird, going to Hawaii to ride mountains, instead of the beach.
