When scout camp goes horribly wrong

I heard last year a ward in my stake made plans to go to summer camp, collected the money, and then right before summer camp announced it was canceled.

And the money that was collected was gone. Disappeared.

I'm not sure that anyone was legally held to account.

Shame was that this was a ward that had not had a scouting program in years despite one of the largest youth populations, it was finally starting to take off, and then this.

Thank God nothing like this has happened under my watch.
