that's what makes Lost amazing. A mystery show that has maintained a high level of interest for a lon time.
It only was in production for two seasons and the mysery of Laura Palmer's killer was resolved right at the beginning of Season 1.

Twin Peaks wasnt intended to go more than 1 season. Lynch signed on for an extra season because he was told he could do it his way. ABC made him reveal the identity of the killer, which Lynch and Frost did not want to do. So he ended it.

Lost is a ripoff of Twin Peaks whose ratings have sagged. Even JJ Lindelof has admitted the heavy influence on Twin Peaks on Lost.

Lost is simply an offshoot of something that was already done 2 decades ago. it is a copy of an original.
