Default My training ride today

I've really had trouble getting in the miles with everything going on in my life (i.e. tons of church activities and meetings).

So I decided to do my own private century today.

Let me tell you, there is a huge difference between doing a rally century and doing one on your own. In a rally, you can mike most of the time. By yourself, it is the ride of truth.

Wind was pretty bad today, rained on me. Had to take detours around the lake due to police dragging a body out of the lake (I have no idea what happened). Pretty much bonked at 70 miles. Took a 5 minute break at 75 miles and felt a ton better. Got a second wind, and then bonked again at 95 miles.

So I'm expecting to reap the benefits of this ride next week when I do the Hotter N Hell century.

One thing I learned today is that I can go 100 miles on my aluminum bike.
