Mifune in Seven Samurai.
One of my very favorite movies. The Magnificent Seven was the U.S. remake. The Three Amigos and A Bug's Life were similar knock-offs. But none could touch the original.

Personally I liked Sanjuro better than the Seven Samurai or Rashomon, which get so much more love.
