BYU loses its longsnapper
What a punk. How do you let your grades fall at make yourself ineligible? You can tell Bronco was not happy about it.
http://www.sltrib.com/sports/ci_4157150 What worries me even more is that the long snapper duties will temporarily be held by SAM DOMAN. I REALLY hope that is temporary. I can't imagine how he would ever work as a longsnapper in a game. Can you imagine what would happen to him on the line of scrimmage? This is scary for the Y. BYU was TERRIBLE on special teams last year. I think it is one of the main reasons they lost as many games as they did (TCU is an obvious example). Now they have to adjust to a new longsnapper who may be as out of place on the line of scrimmage as a vegetarian at a Rhodizzio Grill. |

I think this happens quite often.
Look at what happened with some of the recruits at the U and the rumors that were swirling about Havili not making the grades (which ended up not being true). I'm sure when coaches get that committment from a 17 year old kid or a JC guy they hammer home the importance of making the grade...but some just don't get it done. Of course, as fans, we sit here and say that we would give anything for a D1 Scholarship to play football...apparently some of these guys wouldn't.
