A Kansas church plans on picketing President Hinckley's funeral
http://www.godhatesfags.com/written/...ey-funeral.pdf
How pathetic of a life must a person lead to encourage his congregation to travel 1060 miles and picket a FUNERAL? General Conference I can understand, but a FUNERAL? Also note the name of their website. |

A marine from the Dayton area was murdered recently by a fellow marine in North Carolina. They'll be appearing at this funeral as well.

Some people are very sad and sick. My father told me over Christmas something I have never heard before about my grandfather. My grandfather was a person of some prominence and when he died in 1976 his obituary ran in the Washington Post.
Thereafter, my grandmother received cards and phone calls from a group of "christians" for months letting her know that her deceased husband was in hell because he had been a Mormon. This was not the work of one sicko, but that of a congregation. Why anyone would do that I cannot tell. I am all for free speech. If these people want to show up and picket, fine. But I am also a believer in the power of a bloody nose. As my dad also says there aren't enough of them any more.

It would almost be worth a weekend in jail.

In 1977 Evel Knievel savagely beat his former promoter Sheldon Saltman with a baseball bat leaving the man unconscious and with an arm broken so badly that multiple surgeries and permanent plates were necessary for him to regain the use of it. This because Saltman had published a book which accused Knievel of beating his wife and children. Knievel ultimately spent 6 months in jail on that charge.
Sometime in the late 90's when I was living in SLC I heard Jim Rome interview him on the radio and (I'm paraphrasing) Rome asked him if he had any regrets. He said that he had one and related the above story. Rome then says, so you regret having beaten this man. Knievel says, no he deserved it but I should never have done it myself, I should have sent someone to do it.
