Default Suggestions on things to shoot?

Besides paper targets.

1. sam's cola, shaken up first.

2. empty cans

I'm not going to allow aerosol cans. What else? Cheap and fun is best.

Watermelons are great fun to shoot.

You can even do a little demonstration about how the anti-gun hysteria is out of whack:

Shoot one watermelon with a semi-automatic assault rifle.

Shoot another watermelon with a 30-06.

Watch the results and ask the boys which does the most damage.

watermelons at $5 a pop, I think I'll pass. Remember I have to pay for all of this.

Ok, that is rather expensive.

That's something you can do with your son.

You might be able to find some rotted vegetables at those roadside stands. Squash, zucchini, tomatoes or eggplant would be fun to shoot.

Have you priced ammo lately?

Watermelons ar Wal-mart, $3.99 Some rotten cantaloupes, maybe?
Fill empty gallon milk or water jug with water and hang with string, if you hit it on the side with a rifle bullet it will spin around. Roadkill scrapings? Have scouts silhouettes of vermin on butcher paper. Scouts should be good at finding stuff to shoot, make it an assignment.

Go down to the IT dept of your hospital and get some old hard drives they are looking to dispose of. No better way to scrub a hard drive than with a .44.

We once shot up a bunch of old, dirt cheap ceramic dishes from a thrift store.

And water balloons. Bomb's away...

Road signs, billboards, airplanes, barns.

The usual stuff.
