Bikinis cool or immodest?
Assuming a gal is no longer a young woman, cool or immodest?
Do you really agree that the human form is so awful it needs to be covered like with a Burkha? And maybe I have become too gentile, but this social custom does not seem correct to me. And yes I'm aware it runs counter to decades of teachings regarding dress. Do practicing LDS all believe that, except perhaps yours truly? Women, what are your opinions?

There are flyers all over the chapel for the upcoming youth conference.
the flyers specify: NO TANKINIS. I think bikinis are awesome on Brooke Burke (yes, Junkie, I already know....) I dont think they are awesome on random wife in my ward who wears it to ward swim party.

It's still the rule. My daughters debated this rule thoroughly.

I assure you, I have unwittingly revealed more in a one-piece (to my future husband) than I have in my tankini. |

This is a story I'd like to hear. If Farrah won't tell it, Mike will you?

Actually, I guess I have accidentally flashed people when my baby has pulled down the top of my tankini, so maybe it's a tie between the one piece and the tankini. |

Which reminds me of a nice story when I was around 12
Quote:
I was sitting on the shore of the lake, minding my own business. She was wearing a nice one piecer about 15 feet away. I would glance over every once in awhile. Then I inadvertantly struck gold. She adjusted the front of her suit at a very strategic area right when I happened to glance over. It was a sight that I have never forgotten. Seeing something like that 15 feet away when you're 13 is indescribable. It was easily the best moment I ever had at a youth activity. I told my older brother (by 8 years) about it, around 1-2 years later. He was astonished and simply told me "don't ever tell anyone else that." |

One-pieces are only good for a quick shot if you bend over in front of the guy...even then, you only get to see the tops of the mountains, maybe a little bullseye if you are lucky. No big thing. A tankini for mothers in my ward freaks me out. I dont want to see it. In some cases, I would prefer a burka for them.
