My car got freaking stolen last night....
what the f?
I'll tell you one thing, I might start employing myself as a car thief because the police really don't do anything. Not that I am complaining as I understand the stresses of their profession, but it seems only an idiot would get caught stealing a car and I am not an idiot. |

Seriously though, it surprises me some. That's something I'd expect to happen in Clearfield... not in Layton though... I guess shit happens everywhere. |

That sucks worse than the worst suck that ever sucked... I was depressed as hell about a part of my bike that broke until I read this.
Sorry fus. FWIW... I spent some time working with the Davis Co. Sherrif's Dept., Layton City P.D., and Utah 2nd District Courts this summer. If you have to get a car stolen, Layton is a fairly good place to have it happen. The PD isn't one of those that spends all of its time writing speeding tickets they actually work on crap like this. I'm not saying they'll run out and devote every man they can to your case (most officers I know are working on about 10 - 20 cases at any given moment) but at least you can sleep with the knowledge that the cop who is working your case isn't sitting in the parking lot at Wendy's waiting for people to run a stop sign.

My dad's car got stolen a few months back, but he had GPS monitoring on and it was found later that same day undamaged and nothing taken. Strange but they tracked it down and found it abandoned. Those GPS monitoring companies are worth their weight in gold...the only problem is that the smart thieves know how to turn it off so that the car is not tracked. But if you get the stupid thief, it is terrific. Sorry to hear about the car.
