anyone suprised that BYU looked horrible
against a very mediocre TCU team? Anyone?
Anyone surprised by the mental breakdowns that signify poor coaching? Anyone? It's taken many years for me to reach the emotional equanimity where I can say that I basically don't give a damn. BYU never going to be in a BCS power conference? Ok. BYU going to play most of its games in SD on BYUTV? Ok. BYU going to be steam-rolled on national Friday games? Ok. Bronco getting out-coached against decent competition? Of course. Daniel Sorenson bragging about BYU's athletic "white boys", and repeatedly looking like he has been lobotomized on the field and is the worst "white boy" I have ever seen? Ok. Ogletree playing in his hometown looking like an absolute ass? What else would you expect? Riley Nelson playing school lot football just tossing it around for grabs? Isn't that what you are supposed to do? This was a TCU team that lost to SMU. Seeing this kind of product (3-4 losses) for an independent BYU, playing the same old sh**** bowl year after year is going to get very old, I predict. Already this year we are seeing a lack of enthusiasm by the fan base. Not getting sellouts, empty seats in the stands. Imagine if we were to have another 6-6 season. Well, maybe the basketball team will be good. At least they have a conference championship to compete for. And have the theoretical possibility of winning a NC. |

Rose seems to learn, Bronco doesn't.
This year's basketball team may be a significant drop off after losing two significant senior guards, but you know Rose's team will improve and it will show on the basketball floor. And next year Rose's team will improve some more. With Bronco's team, you can not be certain. I don't believe this team is any better than last year's team, we've just faced worse teams.

Bronco can win when he has an overwhelming talent advantage.
He's even pulled off a win where he didn't (OU). But it seems when facing even-matched competition, the results are generally lacking. I accept that. Just like OU fans have to accept the head-scratching losses under Stoops. It's part of the package. Bronco has been masterful at handling the Mormon element of things, almost positioning himself as one of the sons of Helaman. |

He manages the Mormon element. Fine.
I'd like for him to manage the talent element and the big time win element too. Let there be a team pastor to be head cheerleader!

I'm not watching another game the rest of the season. What's the point? We're not going play anyone special in the bowl game.

The very sad thing is that some of us are compelled to watch, even though we know better.

I have an affliction but Bronco's trying desperately to cure me of it. Crowton couldn't do it, so I imagine even Bronco can't.

I'll keep watching the Bronco show to see what he's reading. And add it to shelf on goodreads.

Here's one--if you could invite either Bronco or Crowton to dinner, which one would you invite? Who would be more interesting to talk to.
For me this is a no brainer. Crowton. |
