Default I've been asked to read at an interfaith meeting

There will be readers from many different backgrounds (Jewish, Muslim, Buddhist, various flavors of Christian). I only get 3-4 minutes.

I think I'm going to read from Alma 24. Verse 18 has long been a favorite:

"And this they did, it being in their view a testimony to God, and also to men, that they never would use weapons again for the shedding of man’s blood; and this they did, vouching and covenanting with God, that rather than shed the blood of their brethren they would give up their own lives; and rather than take away from a brother they would give unto him; and rather than spend their days in idleness they would labor abundantly with their hands."

That was my first thought too. Don't go in sounding like a hippie; bring some SPICE.

The more important point, however is highlighted by Indy:
Who videos themselves reading the BOM and posts it on YouTube?

This guy is kinda how I picture Mike Waters.

Tries hard, but something's missing.

An interesting and thoughtful choice. How are you planning to frame the context?

Ok...if Solon's gonna be all serious about it, I'll reply with the scripture I would share:

35 Nevertheless they did afast and bpray oft, and did wax stronger and stronger in their chumility, and firmer and firmer in the faith of Christ, unto the filling their souls with joy and consolation, yea, even to the dpurifying and the esanctification of their hearts, which sanctification cometh because of their fyielding their hearts unto God.

(Hel. 3:35)

I'm still trying to figure out what chumility is, but I think you get it from afasting and bpraying.

I think this scripture would be speak to non-Christians while affirming to Christians the faith we have in Christ. Also, in my opinion, it's scriptures like these that affirm my testimony in the inspired nature of the Book of Mormon.

Personally, I like esanctification. It's time we put the repentance process online.

I see nothing about fluck in the scriptures.

Oh, but that's because we're shooting for esanctification. Got it.
