Most people you google aren't on the Internet. Most of those that are want to be googled and found.

On the contrary, nearly everyone's on the internet in some capacity or other. Through online public records if nothing else.

The only thing I've seen is campaign contributions and sometimes published legal opInions, and usually you have to get the latter through a service. But I haven't looked that hard.

Sure I do. I used to google girls I'd meet in college. I googled Gidget after we met. I'd also search for them on Facebook or MySpace to see if there were any red flags.

I have no need to google acquaintances. I've already met most people I converse with in internet site - both of 'em. A few I haven't met I've talked with on the phone for various reasons.

That said, I doubt I ever would google info about someone because I have no reason to google them. I've already met most.....

I always Google people I am going to interview with. I don't know if it has really ever helped, but I like to get to know them a little before I talk to them.

I also Google my bosses for potential blackmail data.

Yes ,as long as your "who is googling me" indicator shows you, they (the acquaintances) are doing the same.
