Gained a new convert this weekend.

One of my good buddies joined the throngs this weekend. He found a smoking deal on a decked out Cannondale last week, and, having talked about getting into cycling for several months, bit the bullet and bought it. He also went out and bought all the accessories, the most difficult being the a pair of cycling shorts.

The interesting part of this whole thing is his motivation behind it. He works for a pharmaceutical company here in town that sponsors a racing team. The Pres, VP, CEO and others are all competitive cyclists. I think for him, this is his "golf" - his way of getting in with the big boys at work.

Its good to have him though, especially since the recent disappearance of SteelBlue from the local cycling circuit. :wink:

Hey, I make thrice weekly appearances on the trainer in the garage. Watch out for me this season, I'm gonna be an animal. A fat, sweaty animal.
