Match Point
I've always loved Woody Allen, though I agree with the conventional wisdom that he's been in a ten-year slump (I liked Deconstructing Harry). So last night, with my family out of town, I went to see Match Point, which the critics have hailed as a return to Allen's old form. I think the film was solid, well written and acted. But how twisted is Woody Allen! A sign that the movie was well put together was that in the final scenes when the protagonist showed his true colors my heart and mid were at war with one another on whether I wanted him to get away with his atrocities.
