Default The genius of gerontocracy

I believe that gerontocracy is God's inspired model for two reasons:

1. Having leaders that have been in the public eye for so long that all of their major past sins come to light long before they can become prophet, and almost always before they become an apostle.

2. Having leaders so old that they can't get an erection even with viagra.

Do you think God learned his lesson from Joseph Smith and Brigham Young and their massive libido and decided to go with super senior citizens from then on?

I still can't believe how high functioning President Hinckley is. Both of my grandfathers lived well into their 90s, and they were incapacitated for the last several years. Hinckley is a machine.

Should the prophet be removed from office once he has severe dementia and can no longer function? (e.g. President Benson)

You missed the most important virtue--people are more willing to following unquestioningly men who are older than them.

It's easier to choose to follow someone who is not going to be blown around in the winds of popular opinion, but stick to the task at hand - helping as many of those who desire to return to God.

Hal? *busting up laughing*

He cracks everyone up. I think there is a genius in grapevine that is just waiting to be discovered. Grape is a Church trivia maniac.
