Good to know about the thumbs up from you. I'm waiting for both kids to be asleep at the same time to start it.

Hasn't happened yet.

I know what you mean...it's the first time ever I've been able to get through one before Flash. I never could make much progress when both kids (not to mention Flash) were around.

I must say, it's a nice turnabout to have Flash begging me not to drop any spoilers this time.

Am I in the minority in that I've never picked up a Harry Potter book, let alone read one and have never seen a Harry Potter movie?

I definitely enjoyed the finale and I do recommend. I think, however, that book 7 is my least favorite of the series. Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed it quite a bit, but I don't think it is near as fun as the first couple of books.

That surprises me considering your love of the Classics.

Rowling infuses her work with Latin incantations and Classical allusions.

It's unusual for such a pop-phenom set of works to be so well-written and well-constructed.

I have no interest in the movies. But the books I enjoy.

My brother (6 yrs younger than me) had the same attitude as you, until he came to live with us a couple of summers ago for a law internship. He was determined to avoid the Harry Potter phenomenon, until I convinced him to just try the first one. He grudgingly admitted he liked them and read the whole available series in a matter of weeks.

I disagree. I liked this one.

I like the Latin incantations and classical references.

My wife thinks that she should have ended the 7th book with a choose your own adventure

If you want to see Harry die go to pg 725.

If you want to see Voldemort die go to pg 751
