Robots on Temple Square: where did they go?
Does anyone else here remember the robots on Temple Square? The somewhat nondescript building in the southeast area of Temple Square used to be called "The New Visitors Center" (probably colloquially). I'm sure most here are familiar with "An Evening With Mr. Lincoln" at Disneyland. This New Visitors Center had similar dioramas featuring Nephi, Lehi, and ultimately Mormon and Moroni, talking to the audience about the content and composition of the Book of Mormon, their Indian descendants, Christ's visit to the Americas, etc.
A number of years ago I returned to Temple Square after a fairly long absense, and eager to show these robots to my companion. I was dismayed to see the New Visitors Center reduced to office space, and Lehi, et al. gone. Does anyone else remember the robots and dioramas? What happened to them?
