I just read a study that showed that draft picks don't affect a potential recruit's decision.

I think the real story is that he is not good at recruiting or player development.

I have a poly friend in Southern Cal. Says a lot of the Mormon talent there is down on BYU because of what is perceived as BYU's lack of interest. That BYU is arrogant--not trying as hard as the other schools.

Remember, Bronco says players recruit him, not the other way around.

Recruiting is way down since Bronco took over from Crowton. Of course, so are the number of sex scandals.

Bronco is very comfortable with his current position. Which is a good kind of good mediocrity. He is at zero risk to be fired. Whenever the temperature goes up a little he fires a coordinator or two. It's my understanding that Bronco is not well liked by the players (aloof, no personality). And that the assistant coaches are under severe pressure (year to year contracts) and "coach scared." Sounds miserable.

And by the way, how none of the Reynolds brothers get drafted. Not a single one. They were supposed to be the greatest BYU dynasty ever. What the heck happened?

Much of the poly pipeline was destroyed by the havoc Vai wrought after we hired DuPaix instead of Atuaia. Now that Atuaia is back on board, things should improve.
