Default GOPers, explain why the weak dollar is great for Americans

and why it should continue to get weaker in order to make America stronger.

I think a weak dollar like this is bad for America, but I want to hear your explanation of why it is good, and why it should be even weaker.

I'll answer this question when you tell me why a high crime rate is great for Americans.

Who's arguing in favor of a weak dollar?

It helps exporters, because their goods are now cheaper in the USA, while foreign goods imported into the USA are now more expensive, again helping these American companies.

Yeah, the weak dollar is a purposeful effort by the government to help exporters.

So you're asking the question when you already know the answer?

What's the matter, Mike? Fish aren't biting like they used to?

I just don't think the answer is very convincing.

I guess no one else on the board does either.

This weak dollar is yet another one of GWB's great failures as President. Yes, I think his monetary/deficit/budget policies have had a huge effect.

IMO, the biggest culprit in the weakened dollar was the fallout from the extremely low interest rates at the beginning of the decade and the resulting fallout from that.

The US dollar started it's decline about the same time the dems took over Congress. I would guess that is just an interesting coincedence and the weak $ is another one of Bush's faults.
