I don't think anyone really knows. I've heard it has emeritus status, but that may just be a rumor.

The PAC 10 isn't doing that badly except against the MWC. No one wants to admit it, but the MWC is having an excellent year.

Actually everyone is talking about it. It was fodder for tons of articles. SI even has a 2 page picture of Fui leading the Cougars in the Haka this week leading into their college football section with an inset blurb about the MWC being 7-2 against the BCS and only the SEC having a better record right now.
