Default Went to a 5+ hour Stake Primary Activity today

I've seen Outer Darkness.

It was a French holiday today so the Stake decided to take it from us.

Typically French: a grand idea, way too much talking and lecturing, 4 hours too long, boring, generally disorganized, a few moments of "very good," and plenty of dehumanizing discipline and corporal punishment.

There were even some white French children made up in black face. You don't see that everyday.

(That said, black face in France really isn't what it is in the U.S.)

Religion rises inevitably from our apprehension of our own death. To give meaning to meaninglessness is the endless quest of all religion. When death becomes the center of our consciousness, then religion authentically begins. Of all religions that I know, the one that most vehemently and persuasively defies and denies the reality of death is the original Mormonism of the Prophet, Seer and Revelator, Joseph Smith.

Sorry to hear that.

How soon until you're liberated from the clutches of the French and able to return home to the only true country on the face of the earth?

USA! USA! USA!

Hyper-patriotism is a way of life for me.

If I asked an Italian about heading to the stadium, would he take me to a soccer match or a baseball game?

Most would go to a soccer stadium, but baseball is picking up speed in Italy.

We will be back on U.S. soil on June 29, 2007.

Life without fresh baguettes will be challenging.
