In other mindboggling news Tim Anderson wins Defensive player of the year. (Airforce plays 90% zone defense).
Lee and Trent were both 1st team. JT was 3rd team Johnnie Bryant and Luke Nevill were 2nd team.

I also thought the Krugar COY was a good call. Mostly, I think BYU deserves to be the #1 seed in the conference tourney. Admittedly, the Tim Anderson was the result of the POY tie. They should have just given Giddens POY and Lee DPOY.

The Anderson one is baffling.
I've no problem with Co-POY. I've no problem with Krueger winning COY...however I still believe that it's a lot harder to be on top, be picked to win it, and then still win it again outright when you have a target on your back. I think that's harder than just about anything in sports. Krueger is deserving, but no one can convince me that Rose isn't just as deserving.

That was him! Douglas was a great scorer, but he was not nearly the basketball player that TeeHan was.
On the other hand, Giddens is better than Cummard.

Douglas played in Europe. Looks like his career was about equal to Hansen's.

Who did you think was the better player that year?

I either didn't pay enough attention or have a bad memory.

Douglas was a great scorer. He could really create on his own and fill up the hoop. I thought Hansen was the best all around player BYU had since Ainge. He had a great basketball body. I wish Cleve would have gone with Hansen at the PF position starting in 2002. Bench Eric Neilson and start Bobik. If Hansen had Cummard's hoops IQ, he probably would be starting in the NBA and be good. Hansen was a great natural athlete.
I thought Hansen was a much better all around player- he defended and rebounded like mad. Douglas really did nothing but score. As far as careers go, Marcus Banks has had the best pro career from that crop.
