How can Mexico resolve this drug cartel problem without resorting to the same violence the drug cartels are using?

I ask because I really don't know.

it's not a lack of violence that's the problem. It's a lack of ethics and morals.

See that's the problem with unprincipled conservatives. They think the solution is throwing out the constitution and relying on the unchecked powers of the state, as if that is the solution to terrorism, crime, cartels, and gangs. They don't get it.

Yes. You're a genius and I'm an idiot.

Rather than being condescending, why not offer your solution? You sure sound like you have one. Why not share it with the world?

You're being coy, but given the complex dynamics of Mexican politics, it is not an easy solution. It would require significant cooperation amongst dedicated personnel because the cartels will use violence against those trying to restore order.

it's not complex at all. On one side you have the murderers who obey only their own wishes, and on the other side you have decent people who want a civil state with law and order.

The stronger side wins. This ain't rocket science. Do you think this is the first secret combination in the history of the world?

You have the twelve or thirteen powerful ruling families of Mexico, which also have ties to the cartels. And then you have everybody else with no power. How does one reconfigure the power structure?

You act as if the power of the people can correct a corrupt society. In the history of mankind, it has almost never been so. From the Mongols, the Persians and the Greeks, all conquerors eventually relied upon the local rulers who rarely changed power.

When has a secret society ever been removed from power or eradicated. They always lie in wait to reassert themselves.
