Church to seek new status for MMM site
The church has announced that they will now work with MMM descendants to seek National Landmark status for the MMM site:
http://www.sltrib.com/ci_8730251 This is very good news, IMO. Given the church's complicity in the act, there is no good reason for the church to control the site. This is the right thing to do. And allow me to toot my horn just a bit: http://cougarguard.com/forum/showthread.php?p=122423

I agree with Jeff and SIEQ that this is a good thing. It's an ugly bit of history and I am happy that the LDS church is doing it's part to make amends.

I recommend Answering God's Interrogatories, a collection of essays written by LDS attorneys that speak to questions of balance, purpose and meaning in one's life. Elder Jensen wrote the lead essay, "Adam, Where Art Thou", that motivates one to examine, well, where one is at this point in one's life. I've borrowed from it liberally in giving talks, and I've become a big fan of his.
