Default Molly Ivins is dead

Boy did I hate her growing up.

She doesn't seem so terrible now.

That's too bad that she died, but dang, do I absolutely hate her liberal bitching and moaning. The only columnist I find more despicable than Ivins is Maureen Dowd.

No, not at all. Both are columnists and payed to write their opinions, but they are no different than people like Sean Hannity and right wing pinheads - a tunnel view of politics so narrow that they are all incapable of objectivity.

As much is true. But Molly Ivins was at least very funny, or occasionally funny depending on your political stripe. The same cannot be said of most partisan shills from the right or left.

I guess I didn't appreciate her humor. She sounded mean, nasty and hateful to me. But then, I'm a right-winger. Of course, I don't think any other shills are very funny either.

Ann Coulter is funny sometimes, in a very hyperbolic way.

Political commentators are funny in the way that balding jokes, fat jokes, and impotent jokes are. Sometimes they are correct and funny, but they make people a little uncomfortable, and they can make the object very miffed.

Agreed.

And FWIW, Coulter annoys me.

who find the extremists funny or entertaining than the people who believe they happen to be the Holy Grail of truth in politics.

I also get bugged when the cable news networks (all of them) drudge up these political columnists and make them into experts on everything ... crime, economics, national security, international relations, history-- when all they are it is opinionated nitwits.

They use 'em like my granny uses tupperware- way too frequently and sometimes inappropriately.

There is no doubt Coulter is annoying, but she's not even close to Hannity or Limbaugh in that category. In fact, Hannity is in a league of his own.
