Default Bought her ring today.....

has anyone seen so much money disappear so quickly on something so small?

Anyways the modifications being made on the ring are taking longer than expected, and I hope to have it by early next week...

If people are interested I can take a picture and post here....

Diamonds are ridiculous. I found out a couple of years into our marriage that my wife doesn't even like them. She says she would have been fine with a gold band. I told her that I couldn't be the guy that was too cheap to get his wife a diamond. I guess that makes me part of the reason the things are so damn expensive.

For the first 20 years of our marriage my wife had only a gold band. She always told me that was all she wanted and I was happy to trake her at her word. For the 20th, however, I went out and popped for a significantly more expensive anniversary band with diamonds and surprised her with it. She loved it. So, no matter what thye say (and I think my wife was being genuine and truthful) there is a part of a woman that wants a diamond. IOW, Steel, you made the right call.

This virtually weightless stone in my hand wiped out my checking today....

I feel for the people who go into debt to buy the diamond....

My wife wore her ring for about a year...and put it away. I think she wears her ring about once or twice a year. Whenever she does things with her hands, she would take off her ring...she forgets things and figured it was better to just leave it at home rather than lose it. She has also kept her maiden name...I often don't wear my ring either because I play with it and leave it around. So, we have different last names and we don't wear our rings. I have a feeling that people think we are those mormon friends with benefits kind of people.

You're one arrogant sob, you know that?

This is just the same as some of K-Dog's posts over on CB that created such a ruckus.

No reason to let people know how affluent you are. It doesn't matter.

I don't see what is arrogant about his statement ... I too feel for people who get into debt for a wedding ring. I'm very gratefull I had the money to purchase mine and my wife's ring with cash ... I consider it to have been an amazing blessing ... And to be blunt I come from a poor family.

Sorry, Johnny, but I have to disagree with you on this one too.

I think at best, one could say that Fusnik does not always state his opinions with Teflon-like smoothness. I don't see any reason to rake him over the coals for that. I admit that his bluntness takes some getting used to, but once I became acustomed to it, I find that Fusnik has a lot of depth in what he says.

?????

Is this TIC?

He did say it wiped out his checking account. That's not sufficiently humble for you?

I didn't buy your anger on this one Lingo. You're going to have to be more subtle. A caustic jab would have worked better. You have much to learn from me, young one.

I didn't buy Farrah a diamond ring. Anyway, I think she it still rankles her that I didn't go out with her to buy the ring (we were in different states I think, but could have done it beforehand). She she goes out and buys a two-toned band with tiny encrusted diamonds. i.e. the ring that says "Instead of buying a plain band, I bought an encrusted band, because what I really wanted was a big rock, but my no-good husband didn't buy one."

I guess I have no room to complain.
