It's interesting but not earth-shaking. It basically parallels the account in Genesis from the creation of Adam to the death of Joshua. There are a few spots with notable details where Genesis has none - the one I remember most is when Laban pursues Jacob, Rachel, and Leah . . . I once asked BYU prof. David Seely about the book, and he considers the version we have today to be of Medieval origin, perhaps with some ancient foundations (obviously, since it largely parallels Genesis), but with a lot of interpolations as well.
