You're assuming they can read.

Notice that the cupcake comment was from Miike Lewis, not from anyone at the U.

Still, when a even a writer sways something like that, it can motivate a team. Like when that dumbass Gordon Monson wrote in '98 after the Jazz one the first game of the Finals that it was over and that the team which won the first game goes on to win a rather high percentage of Finals series.
