Default Double Feature: Saturday's Warrior and My Turn on Eart

inescapable conclusions:

1. The song "We've All Got Daddy's Nose" is a metaphor for mormon patriarchy in the 1970s.

2. All of the talk about "treasure hunting" in my turn on earth evidences repression of Joseph Smith's money digging.

3. Both films have seemingly unintentional gay dialogue and situations.

4. These days, zealots would throw the breaks on all the Heavenly Mother talk in My Turn on Earth.

5. Lex de Azevedo doesn't evidence much talent in either production.

6. Jim McMahon deserves all the credit in the world for surviving BYU in the late 70s early 80s.

Those musicals had a lot of value to me as a pre-teen in helping me think more "Big Picture" about my existence and the Plan of Salvation. I don't think they were written with the over 40 crochety farts in mind.

I both appreciate the enjoyment I got from these productions as a primary-aged child and understand the practical, theological limitations as an adult.

As a nonmember youth they imparted some entertainment from that perspective. They were corny, but I got to sit next to some cute, Mormon gals as a result, so there were Mormon girls with benefits.
