I'm in the market for a new HDTV...
I've budgeted for something between 42-50" and would be willing to spend a bit extra for plasma, if it would be worth it.
Any suggestions as to what brand?

I have panasonic and LOVE the brand.
I know Pioneer has a very highly rated plasma.

I like Panasonic also. I have a 62" DLP and it's been a very good tv. DLP really needs to be in a dark room though. I don't recommend DLP unless you have such a room for it. I also have a 37" Panasonic plasma for my office that has been very solid for the money. I have a 50" Toshiba plasma that is decent, but not of the same quality of the Panasonics and cost only a little less. I was looking to upgrade the Toshiba today and noticed that Bestbuy has some decent prices right now for 50" Panasonic's. Vizio has solid pictures also. Especially for their price.

I love my 50" Panasonic plasma. And they are typically the top-rated plasma brand in CR.
