Guitar Hero Suicidal Tendencies
Kids got Guitar Hero II for Christmas, and I have been having a blast with it.
So I'm looking at some of the songs they unlocked and I see Suicidal Tendencies and I tell my kids I think this is a song I remember from when I was a teenager. But I couldn't remember much. Then memory starts flooding and I say yeah it's something about this kid in his room talking to his mom and she thinks he's crazy and he tells her to just get him a Pepsi. Anyway. Cool song. A buddy got into punk music and I got into it peripherally. So I googled it and remembered it all and that album and everything. |

It seems as if Grapevine has hacked Jay's account.
Classic song, by the way. All I wanted was a Pepsi, and she wouldn't give it to me... |

Institutionalized.
Mike Muir is basically the father of skate punk. Not coincidentally, his brother Jay skated for Zephyr (a Z boy of Dogtown fame) back with Tony Alva.

We just got Guitar Hero II for the kids for Christmas, too. The other day, while we were playing it, my 9-year-old son told me he likes Warrant's "Cherry Pie."
Should I be worried?

My wife is concerned about bad musical influences, so she made us get Harpsichord Hero.

Speaking of Mike Muir, I have enjoyed the two Infectious Grooves albums that I have listened too.

Are they still putting out records? I kind of broke up with Suicidal once I got back from my mission so I havent followed them much since.

First two albums are good, after that I cannot vouch for them at all but I think they put out an album as recently as 2000. |

Suicidal Tendencies - great band. I saw them in SLC in late summer of '86 at the Speedway Cafe just before it was time to go back to Poughkeepsie. Mike Muir high-fived me that night. I didn't wash my hand until later that night when I went to the bathroom. Muir is only a few months older than I am, just so you know.
